Happy New Year

I hope everyone had a festive holiday season and are ready for a New Year!

My daughter and I celebrated the first by taking a trip to the Cincinnati Zoo to see the PNC Festival of Lights.  Great event!  Two million lights!  I especially enjoyed the light show over the lake that was synchronized to Christmas music – Carol of the Bells was riveting.  Plus we were able to see a few of the animals that were housed in the indoor shelters (all of the outdoor enclosures were dark… if there were animals out there, they were not interested in competing with the light show).  It was a truly wonderful way to end the holidays.
I thought my family in FL would get a kick out this one.  Pink Flamingos are cool everywhere!

This is how a Floridian dresses when temps dip below 40… hat, scarf, gloves, boots, turtle neck sweater, long underwear, wool socks, the works!  Any colder than 30-something and I would have celebrated New Year Day from my warm, cozy couch.  Ah, just kidding, if you’re dressed right the cold is not too bad, kind of exhilarating actually.
