Concrete Jungle

Here is the beautiful Cincinnati skyline, taken from Central Bridge connecting Newport to Cincinnati.
I think people here consider anything on the Ohio River as “water front”.  Since I was raised in Florida, I cannot wrap my brain around this concept.  Yes, it’s water… but, ah, not sure what to say here…  I hate to be negative, but really, it’s just an industrial waterway used by coal barges, the water is very brown, and there is litter floating along the edges.  Not my idea of scenic beauty.  If I had my choice, I’d prefer a real jungle over the concrete one, as well.  Wait a minute, I do have a choice!  So, I’ve decided I want sea water and greenery over river water and city.  Suppose that means I need to plan my escape.  Maybe I should rename my blog. Escape from Northern KY!

Of course, this could be just the Key West vacation lingering in my mind... I've got salt water on the brain!

In defense of the Midwest, the air is getting crisp and the leaves are changing colors.  I’m looking forward to hiking through fallen leaves, I just love the sound brown leaves make when they are crushed underfoot.  I may be singing a different tune when the temps continue to plunge though, and the beautiful colors of fall turn into a white winter.
